  • Q. How to Use and Configure CIMON PLC Link protocols via Ethernet? 



    A. There are three types of CIMON PLC Link protocols which support Peer to Peer communication for CIMON PLCs (CM1 and CM3) via Ethernet.  



    1. PLC Link (CIMON-Dedicated)     


    This protocol only supports EC01A (CM1 Series).    

    – This protocol can be used only within one identical Network (Local to Expansion).      

    Does NOT require to configure IP Address for each of multiple Ethernet modules.      

    Can communicate by assigning a station for each of multiple Ethernet modules.       

    Go to CICON Parameter on Project Window -> PLC Link -> Configure a Frame (SEND / REC).        






    2. PLC Link (Public)          


    This protocol only supports EC01A, EC10A (CM1 Series).          

    Communicates between same or other networks (Local to Local, Local to Expansion).           

    Must require both IP Address and Station for each Ethernet module.            

    Configure a special program named “PLC Link (Public IP) Setting” as shown below and assign an IP Address for each Ethernet module.             

    Go to CICON Parameter -> PLC Link -> Configure a Frame (SEND / RECEIVE) in the same manner as that of PLC Link (CIMON-Dedicated).              






    3. High Speed Link (Ethernet)                


    Supports CM1 and CM3 Series.              

    Supports between PLC-S CPUs (SP01EET included), between EC10As, and between PLC-S and EC10A.               

    NOT support EC01A module.                

    This protocol can be used only within one identical Network (Local to Expansion).                 

    Does NOT require to configure IP Address for each of multiple Ethernet modules.                  

    Needs to configure Local/Expansion, Slot#, and Station in High Speed Link program.                   

    Configure a special program named “High Speed Link(E)” and set up Ethernet module and Frame in CICON as shown below.                    



  • Q. How to solve the XpanelDesigner (HMI design) software installation error? 



    A. Download the attachment below. (Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 Version 9.0.30729) 



    After the installation of XpanelDesigner, these error messages appear as shown below:   






    These error messages appear due to the absence of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 Version 9.0.30729.  

    Please download the attachment below on our website and install it. 

    Click Next. 





    Accept the license terms and click [Install].  




    Confirm the Setup Complete.  





    Confirm the proper installation of “Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 Version 9.0.30729” on the Control Panel.    






  • Q. How to solve the Modbus TCP communication issue when PLC-S Ethernet module (CM3-SP01EET / Modbus TCP Master) and third party devices (Modbus TCP Slave) are turned on power together and will not communicate? 



    A. Use the Yx4 contact (Modbus Master Restart Request Flag).  


    For example, on a PLC-S using the Ethernet card (CM3-SP01EET) as a Modbus TCP Master,  it is connected to 5 variable frequency drives (VFD) 

     as Modbus TCP Slaves.  Power is turned off on all devices. When the power is turned back on the PLC-S and the VFD’s at the same time, SP01EET cannot communicate with the VFD’s unless the Run switch on the PLC-S is turned to Stop and then back to Run. To fix the problem temporarily, a user put a delay timer on the power to the PLC so that SP01EET is turned on power later than the VFD’s. 






    In this case, use the Yx4 contact which is a flag to restart the Modbus Master communication.  

     If your SP01EET module is located in Slot #1 next to CPU (Slot 0), then this flag will be Y14. Turn this Y14 ON and OFF for 1 second in the scan program, then it will restart Modbus TCP Master Communication even after turning on and off the all devices at the same time. The ‘Modbus Master Restart Request flag’ has been added in the firmware V4.03 and above for SP01EET.    

  • Q. SCADA Keylock License for UltimateAccess 3.03 is NOT recognized in Windows 10 OS? 


    * The four images demonstrate the status when SCADA Keylock License is NOT recognized:  



    1) No LED light on the license. 





    2) An error message when executing CimonD. 





    3) Help -> About CimonD information.  





    4) Control Panel -> Device Manager.   





    A. SCADA Keylock License Driver needs to be installed properly.     


    • When Internet Connection is available      


    1.        Execute Device Manager.      


    2.        Other devices -> Right-click the [HASP HL 3.25].


    3.    Select [Update Driver Software]. 


    4.    Select [Search automatically for updated driver software]. 




    5.        Confirm that SCADA Keylock License Driver is properly installed in Device Manager.





    • When there is NO internet connection   



    1.        Download installation file (HASPUserSetup.exe) from the website in another PC with Internet and then transfer it.

             *File name: Sentinel HASP/LDK Windows GUI Run-time Installer (Version 7.41) is available from the website below. 




    2.        After the installation of the version 7.41, confirm it in Device Manager.




    *When the driver is properly installed, there should be red LED light on the license.
